Description:

Maria's Hotel by the Sea is an excellent example of local ingenuity. Owned and
operated by Maria, a native Tortolan with 30 years of hotel and dining
experience, this once small inn has grown with the times as tourism to the BVI
has increased. Now, completely rebuilt and featuring ocean side rooms with
balconies, this once local hangout is the meeting place for international
diplomats and visitors.

Located next to the BVI Government Complex and down from the Cruise Ship dock, Maria's offers a local, yet sophisticated, atmosphere of tropical breezes and local colors that now make Tortola a cherished destination. Because of this, it is best to pack accordingly. If you are visiting Tortola via the U.S. Virgin Islands, arriving at Maria's is easy as the inter-island ferry service is within walking distance. Airport pick up can be arranged with the hotel staff if you are flying into Beef Island.

To Maria, cooking comes as naturally as whipping up a bowl of her famous
conch chowder, or baking her delicious home made rolls. Always famous for
her local Caribbean Cuisine, Maria personally attends to every facet of food
preparation for visiting guests. She also caters for government and private
occasions.

The hotel features a delightful pool overlooking Road Harbor, located
on some of the most expensive property in the British Virgin Islands. Guests
can relax in gentle breezes from the sea by day and sleep to the lulling sounds
of wind and sea by night. It is the perfect mixture of being in a remote
atmosphere that changes into town business upon leaving the hotel.

The friendly staff at Maria's will greet you upon arrival. They will make arrangements for any of the sea or shore activities that you would like to enjoy while visiting the British islands. Maria's is within walking distance of the many shops in Road Town with the local market and Colombian Emeralds located across the street. Maria's also will help you arrange car rental upon request.
